Did you know that polar bears are the only bears that actually stalk humans?
We had a polar bear attack in the Anchorage zoo a number of years ago. An Australian tourist decided she wanted to hop the barrier to get a close-up of Binky. She was between the concrete barrier and the second fence when Binky reached out between the bars and grabbed her. Fortunately, she took full responsibility for the event.
I am always amused when I see the Coke commercials (and Disney) where polar bears are protrayed as cute, cuddly, and anthropomorphic. She probably thought that the cute bears would rush over and nuzzle her. This had to happen. And, of course, the environmentalists have used them as the "poster child" for climate change, taking advantage of the image that has been created.
My personal pet peeve is when they show polar bears and penguins in the same Coke commercial. They do not live together, people! Polar bears are ARCtic and penguins are ANTarctic! 'Nuff said.
I guess we will find out whether or not I should be blogging. But here goes; I really can get going on some of these things, so we'll put it out there and see if we get yawns, catcalls, or maybe some responses.

it bothers me that she survived. at least the polar bears had some fun.
Actually I think the bears were really just playing. They could have killed her in two seconds.
